“I’ll Never Make Another Placement…”

Have you ever thought about the importance of your inner dialogue in terms of influencing your performance?slump

Most people agree that we tend to become what we think about, focus on, and talk about. With that in mind, picture 2 veteran recruiters who haven’t made a placement in 8 weeks.

Recruiter A’s sounds like this:
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, everything I touch turns to sh#@. I’m in a slump. I may never make another placement.” .

Recruiter B sounds like this:
I’m on the road to my next placement. I’ve had slow times before and I’ve always figured a way through. I know that if I focus on generating quality sendouts, the placements will come.”

Pretty different tone, eh? Recruiter A sounds weak and impotent, Recruiter B sounds strong and action oriented.

Who do you think will get to their next placement first?

Someone once said, “If you argue for your limitations, you get to keep them”. You don’t need to pretend to feel positive when you don’t, but you can at least avoid grinding the gears of negativity that leave you feeling hopeless.

So if you find yourself struggling with your own inner critic, keep this simple mantra in mind; “I’m on the road to my next placement”.

Good hunting.
